Egg Cruelty-Male Chicks

*Warning Graphic Content *

Have you ever wondered what happened to those male chickens born into the chicken industry?
Well it’s not very pretty. They aren’t needed by the companies and are not going to line the big boys pockets with money, therefore they are dispatched. Hundreds of lives ended by the decisions of a few corrupt.
The females are bred to produce more chickens and are used in factory farms for about 6 weeks where they lay eggs at an unnaturally fast rate and explode in size over this short period of time whilst being kept in horrendous holocaust like conditions.  That’s my short version skipping over a lot of brutal facts.

The males can’t make as much profit as the females and swiftly dispatched. They can’t grow fast enough to be raised profitably for meat. Industry standard practise is for workers to sex out the chickens and the male ones a put to the side where they are later disposed of. Often these male chicks are just chucked away without a second thought ,outside into the dumpsters, letting them starve to death there whilst others are crushed under the sheer weight of each other. One place  (shown below in the link) has the male chicks being grounded up alive , which is a horrible way to go and is used much around the world.
If your going to eat meat, for the animals, buy organic meat or check out the farm/place where you are getting your food from, paying that extra money now to save those lives is worth it.We have the power to dictate how these companies profit, give up meat entirely. Currently Australians eat more than 10 million chickens every single week which means we the people are approving these industry.
