Madame K's Review

A new writer has offered me this  wonderful piece.
I know her personally and she is a fantastic vibrant woman with a real passion for animal rights and enjoys dining on delicious plant based cuisine for which she has a wealth of knowledge.

There are quite a few vegetarian restaurants with a lot of vegan options for those who are specifically looking to eat a variety of good quality fresh food that is tasty, vibrant and good value for money. Madame K’s is one of them! I'm a regular at Madame K’s, I started going there January this year. As soon as I walk into the restaurant, there’s a positive vibe. I see friendly faces and hear gentle music playing in the background. There is plenty of space, either book for a big group of friends or sit somewhere secluded in your own little nook for a hidden spot to talk privately if need be. Unless it’s a busy night it becomes loud and full of people, it’s always good to get in early to avoid the hustle and bustle, especially if you want a quiet and peaceful dinner.

They also have options which are gluten free.

Entrees  - All 10 entrees are vegan, although none of them are gluten free. Soups - All 4 options are vegan. Salads - All 5 options are vegan and 2\5 are gluten free. Curries - 4\5 are vegan and 3\5 can be g\f. Large plates - 8\8 are vegan, 3\8 can be made gluten free upon request. Noodles - All dishes are vegan, 2 of which are g\f and 1 is optional. Lastly all side dishes are vegan also.

Entrees and mains $4.90 to $16.90, Side dishes $3 - $4.50, Desserts $6.90 to $10.90

I haven’t tried all of the dishes as yet, but so far my favourite are the Nasi Goreng - Indonesian style spicy fried rice served with soy chicken satay, soy prawns, some bok-choy and fancy cut cucumbers, with your choice of either Jasmine or brown rice. I choose brown. My most recent chosen dish lately is the delicious Massaman curry - slow cooked mushroomed made lamb curry topped with cashews and little carrots served with mashed sweet potato and a leaf of parsley for some decoration to compliment the colours. Both are very tasty, packed with fresh flavours.

The restaurant is licensed but also offers a range of non-alcoholic drinks, from the usual soft drinks to freshly prepared juices and smoothies, teas and my favourite the refreshing and amazing coconut water!
